56cm Barramundi #964 51cm Rockcod #331-333 Squidgy Pro Mongrel Lucky Craft Beefreeze Dry season's land based fishing

There was a little chill in the air while I was driving.
I dedicated to safe driving and got to the Channel Island within an hour by my new 150cc scooter.

The sea water was clear.
That gave me a sense of safety while I was wading through the shallow water because I would trip on the rocks under the water if the water was murky.
The water was cold.
The tide was going out.
I stopped at the big rocks in the middle of wading and then cast my lure.
Soon, I caught an average sized rockcod.
I waited till the outgoing tide permitted me to wade through the shallow water to the mud flat.
The productive fishing window wasn't long at the mud flat.
First I caught a 56cm barramundi on Squidgy Pro Mongrel.

To compare with the wet season's barramundi, the dry season's barramundi are powerful and more beautiful.
It's a prime seafood.

Second, I caught a 51cm rockcod on Lucky Craft Beefreeze.
That is unusual that I catch a nice sized rockcod of equal to or above 40cm by land based in Darwin.

Towards sunset I began to go home.
The dry season in which the temperature is low permits me to carry these fish to Darwin by my scooter.

I will make some prime fish and chips with these dry season's fish.

Mr. Callum Gumball made these fish holders for me.
I can concentrate on the driving.

Sunday Barramundi #960 Sebile Swing Tail The mud flat at the Channel Island

I went to the mud flat at the Channel Island to fish again.
It took 55minutes by my new 150cc scooter to get there.
I saw an angler before me on the rocks there.
His name was Matt.
He has fished on the mud flat at the Channel Island for 15years.
We waded through the shallow water to the mud flat.
We sometimes dragged in the mud.
It's very hard to walk.

We started fishing on the mud flat.
Soon Matt caught a finger-mark.
He caught a small barramundi next.
Finally, he caught a 50cm barramundi there.
He used a Zerek Prawn.

I also met my good friend Rommel by chance there.
He caught a very nice restaurant sized rockcod on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel there.

69cm Barramundi #956 Sebile Swingtail Channel Island land based fishing

I bought a new 150cc SYM Symphony from the Scooter Shop.
It was remodeled for my land based fishing with guarantee safety by Mr. Callum Gumball.
Callum is always the best mechanic to me.

This trip was new to my new scooter.
I went fishing to the Channel Island.
It's very windy.
I waded through the shallow water to the small island there.
The mud was sometimes deep.

The tide was going out.
The water was murky.
I failed to catch two barramundi first.
One of them was a nice sized one.
This fish damaged the top line guide of my bait-cast fishing rod.
I had a spinning rod also.
Casting the Sebile Swingtail, I felt a small strike by fish.
I hooked a heavy fish and controlled the drag pressure against the drawing by the fish.
As a result, I caught a 69cm nice barramundi.

Nice stainless rod holders are welded on the both sides with the quality of being safe.

The knee deep mud made very difficult to draw my legs.
I tried to move forward at a crawl.
If it happened while the tide was coming in, I couldn't survive under the condition like this.

Technique for removing stuck travel rods Rockcod #327 Sebile Swingtail

Recent travel rods have a good performance and good reliability.
Nevertheless, you have ever had a travel rod stuck together, haven't you.

This faucet joint rod comprises the tip rod 1, a middle rod 2 and the butt rod 3.

Shimano Ian Miller Raider rods 6'6" 3pcs Raider Travel, Line weight 3-5kg, Lure weight 3-12g
The grip end was remodeled by Mr. Matt West who was the champion of Barra Classic 2010 so that it was appropriate for a particular use or purpose of my land based fishing.

These attached woods should be about the similar diameter to the joints of rods.

Please use it at your own risk.

Shimano Sustain 1000FG and Shimano Raider Travel rod will be able to land an about 80cm sized fish.

However, it sometimes happens like as follows,

I recommend this small reel.

Barramundi #951-952 Sebile Swingtail Squidgy Pro Mongrel Living near the water for fishing

The tide this evening was ideal for my land based fishing.
Just as I wrote before, East Point was not so good though - the old man's rock and Ben's point become gangerous when the tide becomes greater than 3m.
So I went to Myilly Point to fish.

03:53am 1.97m
10:14am 6.43m
16:23pm 3.04m
21:53pm 5.45m

The water was very clear while the tide was going today.
I went fishing but I couldn't catch any fish at that time.

The productive fishing window came around sunset.
I caught the first barramundi at 6:30pm and the second one at 7:00pm.

The tide was coming.
The water was murky.
The sea surface was wavy.

This location was close to my place.
It took 5minutes by my 8years old 50cc scooter.

It's the Sunday-market day.
I was fishing while many people were enjoying the market noises.

Barramundi #945-946 Sebile Swingtail Minnow Only two barramundi's strikings for the weekend

The tides on May 10 as follows,
03:50am 1.71m
10:10am 6.60m
16:13pm 3.03m
21:49pm 5.76m

The tides were very good for my land based fishing in my fishing locations.
Here, it should be noted treatment of my fishing location at East Point.
The old man's rock and Ben's point rocks become dangerous when the tide becomes greater than 3m.
So I went to Mylli Point to fish around 17:00pm.
I saw many people on the beach for the Sunday market.
The productive fishing window came just before sunset.
After all, I had only two barramundi's strikings for the weekend.

Barramundi #938 Sebile Swingtail minnow

The tides on April 4 as follows
00:29am 1.94m
06:33am 6.79m
12:41pm 1.97m
18:34pm 7:00m

The tides were not bad.
There were some productive fishing windows,
Each window has about 30minutes or 1hour.
It depends on the fishing location.
Ideally, the difference of 2.5m - 4m between high and low tide should be the best in my fishing locations.
Today's tides were not ideally though.

I went to Myilly Point rocks to fish this morning.

The sea surface was slightly wavy.
It's the best sea surface condition to fish.
The water was very clear.
I could see a barramundi's striking.
That means that it is very difficult to hook the fish completely.
Barramundi will strike the lure shortly under the condition like this.
Barramundi is very cautious in a very clear water.
After all, I couldn't catch any fish at this point.
Using a live bait, it will be the best way to fish under the condition like this.

I went to Old-man's rocks next.
The sea surface was calmly flat.
It's not a good condition for catching a nice sized barramundi.
The water was murky.
I caught a small barramundi.

By the way, I went to Lee Point rocks to fish this afternoon also.
The productive fishing window was wide enough for my land based fishing.
The sea surface was slightly wavy.
The water was murky.
The conditions were good.
But I had any fish bites there.
